I believe the bandsaw is one of the safest tools in the shop but that doesn’t mean it can’t hurt you. Recently I had a catastrophic blade failure. This is the first time in my experience that the broken blade has not stayed mostly within the body of the saw. I was not wearing PPE and fortunately was not injured but definitely reminded that even the safest procedures have risks. Take care.
